You add one item. A confirmation appears, but the drawer looks empty. Before clicking again, compare what each cart view actually shows. A saved item and a refreshed interface are separate events.
Documented cases, different causes
BigCommerce fixed a Quick View path that left the full cart stale in December 2025. In October 2026, Shopify staff acknowledged a specific Dawn-family cart-refresh issue and said a fix would ship with the next release. These are scoped cases, not a diagnosis of your store.
Follow the item, not just the badge.
- 01
Add once.
On your authorized store, start with an empty cart. Note the product and option, then add it once. Save the immediate result before refreshing.
- 02
Compare the views.
Check the confirmation, badge, drawer and full cart. Note whether the item appears only after a reload or never appears at all.
- 03
Record the entry point.
A product-page button, Quick View and collection quick-add can use different paths. Send your team the exact button, URL, browser and before/after captures.
After the fix, repeat it.
Repeat the original button path after the fix. Confirm the item, option, quantity and visible price agree without a reload. Then check a second entry point separately.
Where ShopPath helps.
ShopPath records the product-to-checkout-entry path it encounters. One run does not exercise every quick-add control, gift rule or cart app.
Use only a store you own or are authorized to test. Stop at checkout entry, before submitting customer details or payment. Testing begins after approval.
