From cart to checkout · A quick check

The cart works. Checkout won’t open.

Adding an item is only part of the shopping path.

Why it matters

The shopper reaches the cart but cannot continue with the purchase path.

Three things to check.

  1. 01

    Start with a clean cart.

Use an ordinary shopper session without saved payment details. Add one available item and confirm its details.

  2. 02

    Open standard checkout.

Confirm that the expected entry page loads. Stop before submitting customer details, authorizing an express payment or placing an order.

  3. 03

    Record where it stops.

Save the URL, view, browser and visible message. An access restriction or test execution error is not automatically a store defect.

After the fix, repeat it.

After the fix, repeat the path from the product page. An open checkout page does not validate payment authorization, final totals, order creation or confirmation emails.

Where ShopPath helps.

ShopPath stops at checkout entry and provides evidence for review. Completing a purchase requires a separate, platform-specific test order.

Use only a store you own or are authorized to test. Stop at checkout entry, before submitting customer details or payment. Testing begins after approval.

Coverage and limitsShopify: plan a separate test order
