After a theme change · A quick check

New theme. Hidden Add to Cart.

A popup can cover the next shopping step.

Why it matters

The shopper can see the product but cannot easily reach the control that adds it.

Three things to check.

  1. 01

Keep a copy of the theme.

For Shopify, duplicate the current theme before changing it. Keep a baseline for the same product and option.

  2. 02

    Inspect the crowded view.

Check a narrow screen with cookie notices, chat and sticky bars visible. Record whether you used a phone or emulation.

  3. 03

    Check the published store.

After the fix, confirm the control is reachable, add the item and inspect the cart. A preview result does not verify the live page.

After the fix, repeat it.

Repeat the same product path after publishing. Check another product with different options and keep the before-and-after evidence.

Where ShopPath helps.

This manual checklist is broader than a single ShopPath run. Draft previews, password-protected pages and theme administration require separate platform checks.

Use only a store you own or are authorized to test. Stop at checkout entry, before submitting customer details or payment. Testing begins after approval.
