BigCommerce · App guide
Connect your BigCommerce store.
The BigCommerce app is coming soon. This guide covers the connection flow for stores that have been given installation access.
Before you install
Public app installation is not yet generally available. You can request URL-based access today without installing a plugin. The steps below apply only if you already have app installation access.
- Use a BigCommerce account that is allowed to install apps on the store you own or are authorized to manage.
- Have the ShopPath installation link provided to you. If installation is not available for your account, request access rather than choosing an unrelated app or store.
- Check the storefront in a signed-out browser. A shopper needs to be able to reach products and the cart without a prelaunch gate or store-admin session.
You do not need to send support a BigCommerce password, API key, client secret, or OAuth code.
1. Install on the correct store
Sign in to BigCommerce, check the selected store, and open the installation link. Review the permissions, then choose Install. ShopPath requests read-only general store information; its browser journeys use the shopper-facing storefront, not order-management or payment APIs.
Use the installation link provided for your eligible store; if you do not have one, follow the URL-based setup above. Availability of a draft or private installation link does not mean the app has been approved for the public Marketplace.
Expected result: BigCommerce opens the ShopPath connection screen for that store.
2. Open your ShopPath workspace
Check the storefront name on the connection screen, then choose Continue to ShopPath. This opens the customer workspace connected to your BigCommerce store.
Expected result: your connected store appears in Storefronts. Its name and URL come from BigCommerce and are not edited manually in ShopPath.
The sign-in handoff is short-lived and single-use. If the page was left open or the link has already been used, reopen ShopPath from BigCommerce Apps to get a fresh handoff. Do not reuse or share an old callback URL.
3. Check storefront approval
In Storefronts, check both the connection and approval status. If approval is pending, wait for ShopPath to review the storefront. Approval notifications are sent to the eligible account email; the status in your workspace is the place to confirm readiness.
Ready to test means: the storefront is approved and active, the connection is available, and Usage & plans shows active access with journeys remaining. Installation alone does not grant testing permission.
A coming-soon page, sign-in requirement, or CAPTCHA may still prevent an ordinary shopper journey. ShopPath does not use your store-admin session to bypass a restriction. Automatic CAPTCHA solving is off by default; you can enable provider attempts in Storefront settings. Unresolved challenges still stop the test.
4. Run your first shopper test
- Choose Run Shopper Test in ShopPath and select the approved storefront.
- Choose desktop or mobile, review Browser locale, and add an optional Postal code if relevant.
- Choose Run Shopper Test to submit it. One selected view uses one journey. Run a separate manual test if you want the other view.
- Follow the queued or running status, then open the report. Review the result with its checkpoints, screenshots, and browser recording when available.
Journeys stop before submitting customer details, payment, or an order. A result describes the tested path, not every part of the store. Learn how to read results and manage schedules.
If setup does not complete
- Install is missing or unavailable: check the BigCommerce account, selected store, installation permissions, and the link provided to you. Draft/private app availability can be restricted.
- Sign-in link expired: reopen the app from BigCommerce Apps and use the new Continue to ShopPath button.
- The store is pending: installation succeeded, but storefront approval is still required. Do not repeatedly reinstall to try to bypass it.
- The storefront shows Coming Soon or a CAPTCHA: review its visibility in BigCommerce. ShopPath cannot enter a protected store. For supported CAPTCHAs, you can enable automatic provider attempts in Storefront settings; completion is not guaranteed.
- Tests are unavailable after approval: check Usage & plans for access and remaining journeys, and Storefronts for an active connection.
If you still need help, open a support ticket. Include the store name, the setup step, and the visible error. If you cannot sign in, email support@getshoppath.com without credentials or sign-in links.
Reopen or uninstall the app
To return, open ShopPath from BigCommerce Apps. If you already use a separate ShopPath password sign-in, you can also use the ShopPath sign-in page. Installing through BigCommerce does not mean you need to create a second account.
Uninstalling disconnects the integration and revokes its connected access. It is not an account-deletion request and does not automatically cancel a separately managed paid subscription. Check billing before uninstalling, and follow the cancellation policy if you want to stop renewal.
